Conversation with Nature - Women’s Walking Assembly Cairngorms April 2026

Activity: Other Activities/External ResponsibilitiesPublic engagement, outreach and knowledge exchange

Activity

This gathering celebrated the relationships and collaborations that have grown within the We Are Nature Collective over the past year.

Supported by WayWORD and Grassroots to Global, this event took the form of a Women’s Walking Assembly exploring climate justice in the North-East of Scotland.

The collective has gradually formed as a space where women from different backgrounds come together to connect with nature, support one another and reflect on the social and ecological challenges of our time.

Our We Are Nature Women’s Assembly continues to explore a central question:

What becomes possible for our lives, our communities and our relationships with the earth if we truly understand that we are part of nature?

These reflections will contribute to the development of our Naturefesto, a collective reflection and expression emerging from the shared experience of the We Are Nature Collective.

Creative activities during the walk may include storytelling, poetry, photography and nature-based reflection.

This walking assembly aimed to create a respectful and inclusive space for dialogue.

Participants were invited to:

• Listen with openness
• Speak from personal experience
• Respect different perspectives
• Allow space for many voices
• Care for one another and the land
