A roundtable marking the launch of the new University of Aberdeen Environmental Arts and Humanities Network (EAHN), supported by the Interdisciplinary Institute.Description
This event brought together distinguished researchers who are at the forefront of interdisciplinary environmental research. Together, they explored key themes including energy transitions, climate change, multispecies justice, and the role of the environmental humanities and creative practice in addressing ecological issues. The speakers, including Professor Emeritus Timothy Ingold (Anthropology), Dr Isabelle Gapp (Art History and the Interdisciplinary Institute), Dr Alejandra Rodríguez-Remedi (Film and Visual Culture), Dr Jennifer Clarke (Gray's School of Art), and Professor Timothy Baker (Scottish and English Literature), shared insights into their research and offered reflections on new directions for arts and humanities-led environmental research. This gathering aimed to spark conversation and ideas for collaboration: the chance to learn, share, and help shape the future of environmental arts and humanities research at Aberdeen and beyond.
The roundtable took place in New Kings 10 (NK10), followed by a networking lunch in the Interdisciplinary Lounge, Crombie Halls.
