Event description: 'Join the National Library of Scotland’s 2022-23 Scots Scriever, Shane Strachan, as he performs highlights from his year responding creatively to our national archives in Scots. Strachan has taken inspiration from the breadth of our archives, from 1707 petition letters, to a Crosse & Blackwell factory training film. Shane will be joined by singer Ellie Beaton who will perform two ballads from our Anna Gordon Brown ballad repertoire manuscripts followed by related readings from Shane’s work-in-progress autofiction set in Aberdeenshire fishing towns in the 1990s.'
