Organising a four-days meeting between data science guests from Brazil and local academic, NHS and industry stakeholders

Description

Professor João Mazzoncini de Azavedo Marques, Professor Paulo Mazzoncini de Azavedo Marques, Dr Lariza Laura de Oliveira and Dr Leonardo Moscovici have been invited to visit the University of Aberdeen between 29th July 2019 and 02nd August 2019. The purpose of their visit is to establish a long-term artificial intelligence research partnership. The visit is funded by the Global Challenge Research Fund - Internal Pump Priming Fund Round 5 that helps position the University of Aberdeen to leverage funding from the Global Challenge Research Fund.

The University of Aberdeen was voted the Scottish University of the year 2019 and won the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education 2017.

Amongst a range of activities, we are providing the visitors with an opportunity to meet the head of the Institute of Applied Health Sciences, myself and the directors of Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science Aberdeen and Biomedical Imaging Centre, as well as a range of experts in data science and healthcare improvement. The visitors will also have a unique opportunity to meet partners from pioneering £15.8m Sottish consortium called the Industrial Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research in Digital Diagnostics.
