Science Films, their Festivals and Archives: how to shape the dialogue between science and society

Activity: Disseminating Research Invited talk

Activity

I have designed and organised this research seminar held at the University of Padua in the context of the activities related to the public engagement project Imaginarium. The research seminar was supported by a pump-prime funding. All other public engagement activities were supported by the University of Padua.

Description

I have curated the seminar organisation and presentation, inviting two international scholars, Scott Curtis (Northwestern University, US) and Matteo Valleriani (Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Germany), and with Simone Venturini (Università di Udine, Italy) as discussant.
I was a member of the scientific committee which oversaw the organisation of the Imaginarium mini-festival with colleagues from the University of Padua and beyond. he seminar is part of the IMAGINARIUM project: two days of talks and dialogues with experts and researchers, video and film screenings, and children's workshops to recount the legacy of the scientific-educational film festival that enriched Padua from 1956 to 1975, becoming an international reference point in those years.
