Specialists working to find cause of whale stranding in Orkney

Description

It's thought to have been the largest mass stranding, in nearly 100 years, 77 pilot whales died, after washing ashore on the island of Sandy, in Orkney earlier this month. Specialists are now working to determine the cause of the stranding, which led to the pods deaths.

Rebecca von Hellfeld, a marine biologist from the University of Aberdeen, took part in the operation. She spoke to Gráinne Ní Ghréacháin. about the possible reasons for the stranding.
