Equipments Details
Description
The Rowett Analytical Facility is part of the Institute's scientific support division. These facilities are available to support research in The Rowett Institute and the wider scientific community from its suite of analytical laboratories. The service operates to ensure consistency of analyses, working to strict quality assurance guidelines.
The facility has developed over the years to provide a range of platforms for the analysis of endogenous and exogenous compounds using state of the art technologies.
Staff are available for consultation on any aspect of analytical work
from sample collection and preparation to discussion on interpretation of final
results. The laboratories provide state of the art equipment and staff are
highly trained and experienced in all aspects of analytical chemistry. Methods
can be developed or adapted to suit individual requirements.
Manager: Gary Cameron
Our facilities and analysts:
Analytical Chemistry – Donna Henderson
Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry – Susan Anderson
Gas Isotope Ratio-Mass Spectrometry – Louise Cantlay
High Performance Liquid Chromatography - Lynn Pirie
Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry - Jodie Park
Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry – Gary Duncan
Keywords:
Targeted metabolomics: LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS and GIR-MS
CTIMPs and pharmacokinetic studies: LC-MS/MS
Nutritional analysis: HPLC, GLC, proximate and clinical analysis
Elemental analysis: ICP-MS
