    Biography

I am an agri-environmental modeller and inquiries are welcome to discuss collaborations as a co-author or co-investigator. Inquiries from funded PhD applicants are welcome.

I administer the development of the site and spatial MiscanFor series of models with Professor Astley Hastings and use other agri-system models such as DayCent and ECOSSE for crop growth (often perennial biomass), and environmental effects including changes in soil carbon.

I am a researcher on the UKRI-DESNZ-devolved govts-funded LUNZ Footprint project which involves a partnership of farmers, GHG calculator companies and academics to investigate the carbon accounting of different calculators and understand better how farmers interpret them. My research is providing modelled projections of soil organic carbon change under crops and GHG mitigation managements.

I am a researcher on PBC4GGR, a large UKRI project in which researchers at Aberystwyth’s Institute for Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) will lead a consortium of partners to investigate the carbon potential of biomass crops. I am investigating the belowground biomass link between yield and soil organic carbon.
