Personal profile

Research Profile

For 4 years I was a proactive ITE Programme Director within the School of Education, with a proven academic background in English Literature, primary teaching and professional leadership. I possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and I have assimilated a diverse range of professional skills through recent ITE management experience and programme development. I effectively liaise with students, colleagues and partners at all levels, and work well both autonomously and as part of a wider team, having the initiative to lead and make decisions, and the inter-personal skills required to work collaboratively. I have recently been appointed to a new role within ITE recruitment and now having gained my masters degree in October 2021, I am excited to begin my scholarship research journey.

My main research interests stem from my teaching and leadership roles:

- The use of virtal assessments for student practicum

- Placement+ Days: a third space area designed to support students when out on campus, and to enable them to share practicum experience across contexts

- Primary mathematics: developing conceptual understanding, exploring pedagogical approaches. and supporting the development of student teacher competence and confidence

- Recruitment: widening access
