    Biography

    Nelson Chigozie Nkalu is a PhD candidate and Teaching Assistant in Economics and Invigilator at the University of Aberdeen Business School, University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom. His research interests revolve around macroeconomics, development economics, and labour productivity growth, especially in investigating structural transformation dynamics, labour productivity growth, and manufacturing output-policy mix.

    In his over nine years of cogent work experience in academia, Nelson has been working as a lecturer and researcher in Economics up to a mid-career level at the University of Nigeria (2013 - 2020) before joining the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom as a PhD candidate and Teaching Assistant in Economics and Invigilator (from 1st September 2020 to present). He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD in Economics (Development Economics) from the University of Nigeria. Nelson is also a visiting scholar in the 2020/2022 Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics (SGPE) at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, on advanced courses in  microeconometrics and time-series/macroeconometrics.

    Nelson has worked on many development projects and has published over forty-one professional/scholarly articles and policy papers in rated local and international journals. Given his track record in the development impact projects and research, Nelson is awarded a fully funded sponsorship by the Federal Government of Nigeria - Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) in 2020. His TETfund award by the Federal Government of Nigeria is aimed to carry out a cross-edging project bordering on the development and structural transformation of the Sub-Saharan African region at the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom.
