Research Profile

Principal research interests are in the areas of health economics and well-being, labour economics transport economics and open economy macroeconomic modelling.

Teaching Responsibilities:

David is a Senior Fellow of the HEA, and an Associate of the Economics Network. He has received three awards recognising excellence in teaching: the HEA Economics Network 2006 E-learning Award, the 2009 (student-nominated) College of Arts and Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the 2011 Student Nominated Teaching award from the Economics Network. He was a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) Learning, Teaching and Student Experience (LTSE) Committee from 2019-2025 and is a CABS Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE). In 2022 he was a member of the QAA Advisory Group for the Economics Subject Benchmark Statement Review. He served as the Business School's Director of Education from 2019-2025.
