Abstract

The aim of this appendix is to provide some useful tips on the growth and
storage of strains of Saccharornyces cerevisiae. Most of these tips will be obvious to those with experience in the field, but we hope they will be helpful
to those who are about to handle this organism for the first time. We refer
readers to an excellent article by Fred Sherman (1991) on "Getting started
with Yeast" and to the volume by Guthrie and Fink (1991), which provides
useful practical details of many specific yeast methods
