Abstract
Short reviews of books new and old, fiction and non-fiction, academic and non-academic.
Review of "Boys, Childhood Domestic Abuse and Gang Involvement: Violence at Home, Violence On-Road" Jade Levell, Bristol University Press, 2022
“Young boys involved in gangs as perpetrators of violence are often victims of domestic abuse – so why do we ignore the links? In Boys, Childhood Domestic Abuse and Gang Involvement: Violence at Home, Violence On-Road (Bristol University Press, 2022), Jade Levell uses a combination of her lived, practitioner and research experience to explore this under-researched question. For anyone who has worked in this field, there is an obvious link from childhood domestic abuse to later violence and crime. Levell encourages practitioners and researchers to use creative spaces and methods to listen to and support young boys in breaking the cycles of marginalisation, exclusion and violence.”
