Abstract

A color smart window enabling an electrically-switched color across the visible spectrum based on polymer-sustained conical helix structure of a cholesteric liquid crystal is demonstrated. The proposed color reflective display is low in operation voltage, reversible and low-hysteresis in color switching via electric field ramping, and wide color gamut due to narrow spectral bandwidth.
