Abstract

In this editorial, we offer authors practical recommendations on how to craft compelling papers for publication in Technovation. Every editor seeks to publish such papers as they tend to have more influence on both theory and practice, higher citations, produce a higher degree of learning and be essential for attracting talented doctoral students (Matter, 2006; Wright, 2015; Linton, 2016). Compelling papers also motivate reviewers and authors to be very engaging, thus potentially speeding up the review process. Scholars like Matter (2006), Whetten (1989), Corley and Gioia (2011), Kieser et al. (2015), Hodgkinson and Rousseau (2009) and more recently Dorobantu et al. (2024) have provided valuable guidance on producing high-quality research and contributing to theory. In line with their insights, compelling papers are impactful, methodologically rigorous and present a convincing and relevant contribution to theory and practice.
