Abstract

2007 has been an excellent year for FEMS Publication Office and at Wiley-Blackwell.

Editors unselfishly devote significant amounts of their time to processing papers, soliciting reviews and dealing with authors in a friendly and efficient manner. Their sound judgement ensures the quality of published papers. We are indebted to members of the Editorial Board and to other reviewers both for the quality of their reviews and for the speed with which they are submitted. We will be publishing a list of those who have devoted time to reviewing papers in 2007 later in the year. The average turnaround time for review of papers is 3 weeks and, on average, decisions on manuscripts are made within 6 weeks of submission. We therefore believe that we provide a highly efficient service to authors in processing manuscripts rapidly. Staff in the FEMS Publication Office also provide an invaluable service to authors, reviewers and editors. They contribute significantly to strategic thinking, development of the journal and publicity and provide an important link with our publishers.
