Abstract
Chiara Angiolini's first book is an interesting and well-researched work that takes the reader through one of the issues that continues to keep privacy scholars busy: the legal nature of personal data. Evidently, the discussion has been vivid for years and has not subsided so far. Technological developments, the business models of the digital economy, and their legal constructions have been leading to the progressive datafication of the self and to the more subtle forms of informational capitalism, questioning the efficacy of the current legal framework for protecting individuals and groups from harm.
