title = "Israel and the Community in Paul (Rom 9-11) the Rule texts from Qumran",
abstract = "The chapter compares the attitude to {"}Israel{"} in Paul's Rom 9-11 and in the rule texts from Qumran. For both {"}Israel{"} is a term which indicates not the contemporary Jewish people but the people with whom God made his covenant. In both only part of Israel sees God's will (as interpreted by Paul/ by the community), but while the community accepts that the eschatological Israel will only be those who follow the community, Paul imagines a salvation for all Israel through faith in Christ.",
