Abstract
This report presents and analyses data from 17 interviews conducted in Caithness and online between July and October 2024, focusing on stakeholder perspectives of nuclear decommissioning through a Just Transition lens. The study examines the impacts of nuclear decommissioning on local communities, with a case study on Dounreay, the region’s dominant nuclear site. It builds on two earlier reports: i) evaluating the overall economic impact of nuclear decommissioning in Scotland and ii) exploring the relevance of the Just Transition Policy Framework for Caithness and North Sutherland.
