Abstract

Part of the "Ballroom Sessions" series by Concerto Caledonia at Glasgow's Sloans Ballroom, this was a revival and reimagining of the 18th-century dance band, featuring dances and music by the Black British composer, writer and abolitionist Ignatius Sancho (c. 1729-1780), alongside tunes by Scottish female composers Catherine White (fl. 1800), Isabella Scott (1786-1838) and Sophia Parker.
