Abstract

Eurasian otters Lutra lutra (Linnaeus, 1758) and
cats Felis catus Linnaeus, 1758 are two common and widespread mammalian carnivores in Europe
(Mitchell-Jones et al. 2009). On 22 January 2020, I observed a free-roaming cat and a family of Eurasian otters engaging in an interaction in an urban
section of the river Don in Aberdeen (Scotland,
UK; Fig. 1).
