Abstract

In 2017, approximately 2 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide.1 Although the rate of breast cancer recurrence is low, cancer progression is a significant cause of suffering and death in patients with locally advanced disease.1,2 Surgery in locally advanced breast cancer improves outcomes. However, it is unclear whether different anaesthetic techniques at the time of surgery have an impact on the survival of these patients.
