Abstract

The paper reports on an experimental study of four turret-moored FPSO systems in waves. The experimental set-up and the model systems are described. Results for system motions and mooring line tensions from tests conducted in long-crested and short-crested waves are presented. Analysis of the results shows how turret position, mooring stiffness and the period and spreading content of the waves influence the mooring forces and motions.
