Abstract
Part of the "Ballroom Sessions" series by Concerto Caledonia at Glasgow's Sloans Ballroom, this programme centred around poet and playwright Allan Ramsay (c. 1694-1758), including Scots songs from the seminal collection The Tea-Table Miscellany, and Scots tune settings by Ramsay’s musical circle, including William McGibbon and John Clerk of Penicuik. The performance was followed by an informal 18th-century trad session.
