Abstract

We know from our own internal research, and from hearing the voices of employers, students can find it difficult to articulate the skills they have developed throughout their time at university. This is especially evident when they are applying for graduate jobs after their degree but is also the case for many when applying for part-time work during their degree or when applying for other roles or voluntary positions. We wanted to change this and provide a
system that students can easily access and use throughout their time with us at the University of Aberdeen. This case study is a story of our journey so far and highlights what we are doing, why we are doing it and how we hope to achieve it. It is by no means a finished project, but we do hope it provides some focus and sparks conversations in other institutions on this important topic.
