Inferring soil water retention curves to different time points from bulk density and macroporosity

Dataset

Description

The raw data were generated in experiments to test and demonstrate sustainable soil management in the UK. The raw data were later used as secondary data to test whether whether soil water retention curves can be inferred to to different time points using easy-to-measure bulk density and macroporsity. The idea behind this was to develop a quicker and less expensive way of obtaining soil water retention curves even at very short intervals such as not obtainable with the traditional measurement of soil water contents. Soil water retention curves are useful in providing information about the soil structural state of the soil and same could be incoporated into environmental models.
