Research Profile


My research interests lie in innovations connecting Agri-food Tech, Health, and Sustainability, analysing and evaluating opportunities in these industries, and creating new knowledge, formulations, and products at the proof-of-concept stage, using pre-clinical studies, cellular models, clinical trials, market research and surveys to develop solutions to Food Security-related issues. Examples of my research themes include:

  • Plant-based bioactive ingredients and nutraceuticals, cardio-metabolic risk, and heart health
  • Plant-based ingredients, phytochemicals, and immune function
  • Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory responses of plant-based diets to physiological stress.
  • Macro and microeconomic drivers and barriers to food, nutrition and health security.
