Biomedical sciences, drug delivery and tissue engineering in particular have greatly contributed to human health over the years. However, traditional techniques are insufficient to either provide a precise treatment for patients or accurately predict the complex behaviours of living tissues during a therapeutic regimen and after organ transplants. Effective and accurate drug delivery is one of the keys of success in clinical practices against various diseases. Despite the advances in pharmaceutical science, drug delivery outcomes are still confined due to the series of side effects that are caused by high drug concentration in normal tissue and the inadequate drug accumulation in lesion interior. The development of drug discovery is not merely confined to finding a therapeutically effective compound nowadays, instead a combination with suitable carriers of drug delivery devices.
