Abstract

Previous publications have offered multiple incorrect readings of PAT 0670 (= CIS 4313), a Palmyrene funerary inscription on a relief in the collection of the Berkshire Museum, Pittsfield, Mass. This article provides a new reading based on personal and photographically-facilitated inspection of the inscription. We correct the
previous readings here, reconstructing the reasons for them and discussing the onomastic problems posed by our new reading.
