Abstract

Environmental Principles and the Evolution of Environmental Law
Eloise Scotford, Environmental Principles and the Evolution of Environmental Law, Hart Publishing, Oxford, UK, 2017; i–xlii + 272 pp; ISBN 978-1-84946-297-6

While there are research projects that explore the origins and legal impacts of environmental principles, placing those principles or rules into a broader legal context, Environmental Principles and the Evolution of Environmental Law does something quite interestingly different: it questions the place of environmental principles in legal settings, with a focus on understanding how two different legal cultures have attempted to implement those ‘soft law’ ideas into ‘hard law’.
