Abstract
In the title compound, C18H23N2+ center dot C6H2N3O7- center dot H2O, the cation and anion are linked by a bifurcated N-H center dot center dot center dot (O, O) hydrogen bond. A second N-H center dot center dot center dot O interaction connects the cation to the solvent water molecule. The dihedral angle between the aromatic ring planes in the cation is 53.92 ( 8)degrees. One of the nitro groups of the anion is disordered over two orientations in a ratio of approximately 0.84:0.16.
