Abstract
This essay was written at invitation for a special issue of a Spanish cultural publication devoted to the contributions of Ferran Adrià. The topic I was invited to address was "education", and the paper addresses the question of teaching creativity and hospitality in the context of cuisine. The title of the paper evokes the question of "ethos" as developed by Heidegger when he reminded us of Heraclitus' invitation to a group of visitors when they were surprised to find the great philosopher warming himself by a stove. "The gods are here too..", he replied.
