Abstract

Background: Suboptimal recording and coding of COPD-related events and assessments within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) can lead to difficulty in future disease management decisions. Unrecognised COPD diagnoses and exacerbations are associated with future exacerbations and negative patient outcomes.
