Abstract
This is the final evaluation report of the Inverness, Scotland, Bridge to Employment (BTE) Programme (2009-2011), prepared by the evaluation team in the University of Aberdeen. The evaluation team were commissioned by the Academy for Educational Development (AED), and now the FHI Development 360 LLC (FHI 360) in Washington D.C. This report draws from data collected over the 2 year period of the evaluation of the BTE programme. The Inverness, Scotland BTE is one of a number of programmes worldwide supported by Johnson & Johnson. The programmes achieve their aims by a local Johnson & Johnson operating company forming public/private partnerships with educational establishments (principally secondary schools) and key local organisations. BTE programmes usually involve students aged 15-17 years. The programmes provide opportunities for contextual learning to better prepare young people for the world of work by making learning work-relevant, experiential and enjoyable.
