Abstract
The Paris Agreement has been both hailed as a triumph of climate diplomacy and criticised as a toothless treaty eroding the quantitative greenhouse gas emission targets established previously by the Kyoto Protocol. Almost six years since its adoption, the Paris Agreement's contents and legal nature still spark debates among scholars with one commentary already published in 2017 (Daniel Klein et al, The Paris Agreement on Climate Change: Analysis and Commentary (OUP 2017)). The volume under review, “The Paris Agreement on Climate Change: A Commentary” from the Elgar Commentaries series, adds to the thriving academic discussion and is especially relevant following the adoption of the so-called “Paris Rulebook” in 2018.
