Abstract
The book under review, English Legal Histories by Ian Ward, seeks to explore the state of English law around three key “moments” in its history – 1613, 1765 and 1887 – and is accordingly divided into three parts. Each part is further divided into five chapters exploring the state of the law during each moment in relation to four key areas – constitutional law, criminal law, private law and, separately, property law – plus a preceding contextual chapter on England in each era.
