Abstract
The ideas in this booklet were produced by teachers involved in a research project based on the use of TI-Nspire software and handheld technology in Scottish mathematics classrooms. The research project focused on the relationship between TI-Nspire's use of dynamically linked multiple representations of mathematics concepts and students' understanding of these conceepts. The teachers found that the use of the technology, together with a move towards an investigative approach with more opportunity for questioning and discussion, led to a deepening in students' understanding, an increased pace of learning and an increase in motivation and engagement.
