Abstract

Law and Economics looks like a success story. Before the 1970s the idea of applying neoclassical microeconomics to the study of law seemed obscure to many. Today, Law and Economics is an acknowledged academic field worldwide. Moreover, Law and Economics seems to be one of the few examples of a successful interdisciplinary project. The goal of this book is to explore to what extent this is really the case. In the introduction, we briefly outline the ideas behind this project and give an overview of the volume.
