Abstract
In the last years of the 20th century, the opening of national borders and increasing in international integration caused the risks to children. Cross-border trafficking and exploitation of children, in parallel with the overseas migration of children after war, civil turmoil or natural disasters have become major problems around the world. The 1996 Hague convention on jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition, enforcement and cooperation in relation to parent responsibility is recognized as one of the important conventions dealing with the protection of children and parental responsibility, with the participation and response of many European countries, including the UK. The study will focus on UK accession and enforcement experiences thereby give the recommendations on experiences for Vietnam when researching on the accession to the 1996 Hague Convention.
