Examines the Scottish Sentencing Council's publication, "The Sentencing Process: Sentencing Guideline", which has applied to all courts in Scotland since 22 September 2021, setting out a sequence of eight actions which courts should follow to reach a sentencing decision. Considers the sentencer's duty to "have regard" to the guidelines.
