Abstract
The primary systemic vasculitides (PSVs) are a group of complex inflammatory disorders which may affect multiple diverse organs at any one time. The application of immunosuppressive
therapy since the 1970s has transformed the natural history of many of these diseases from once invariably fatal to now chronic relapsing conditions. However, these diseases remain associated with a substantial health burden due to long term toxic therapies and accumulated organ damage.
