Abstract
Aberdeen Early Music Collective (AEMC) undertake a world-première recording of cantatas and trio sonatas by Venetian composer Giovanni Maria Ruggieri (contemporary of Vivaldi), from the new edition by Dr Jasmin Cameron. Hidden in obscurity for 300 years, these dramatic pieces showcase the composer from whom Vivaldi borrowed the final fugue of his famous Gloria.
