Abstract

Drug abuse is one of the most common public health problem causing significant morbidity and mortality throughout the world. The present retrospective study was done with objective of compiling data of NDPS cases that were reported during January 2013-December 2017 at State Forensic Science Laboratory, Junga (Himachal Pradesh). Data on locality and type of drug was recorded and analyzed. Charas and Heroin were found to be most common drugs of abuse in these four districts of Himachal Pradesh. Data interpretation of this study has brought some significant findings for the interested researchers. Moreover, this study can also be utilized to develop and implement effective preventive strategies to deal with fatalities due to drug abuse.
