This is the second volume of a fascinating, idiosyncratic and—I would argue—fruitful project undertaken by Willem Vanderburg.¹ The basis of the text is a series of intensive and structured Bible studies which Jacques Ellul led with small groups of graduate students and professionals in Bordeaux between 1973 and 1978. Vanderburg participated in most of these sessions and tape-recorded them. He is now releasing them in English translation.
