Abstract
In This Is My Body, Anglican priest Jennie Hogan centres the importance of bodies and the stories they tell. Hogan's own body has been a place of pain and trauma throughout her life. Her unsparing personal narrative of life-threatening brain injury, interspersed with deep theological reflection, forms the basis of this book.
A gifted story-teller, Hogan begins by recounting her first near-death experience. As a child of 11, her brain began to haemorrhage blood. She goes on to describe the subsequent chain of medical episodes which resulted in her severe visual impairment and chronic epilepsy.
