Abstract

Viton is examined in a microcalorimeter and found to display a nil signal, indicating no heat release. Viton having imbibed an organic solvent mixture releases heat quite powerfully. The results area interpreted along the lines of mutual sensitisation to oxidation of the viton and the solvent.
