The Political Economy of Scotland

Abstract

When Scotland goes to the polls in September to answer the apparently simple question of whether or not it should be an independent country, the answer from the electorate will signify the end of one era in Scottish politics and the beginning of another. No matter the outcome – whether Scotland votes for independence or to remain in the Union – more questions will inevitably arise.
