title = "What is Analytic Philosophy?",
abstract = "Over the course of the twentieth century analytic philosophy developed into the dominant philosophical tradition in the English-speaking world, and it is now steadily growing in the non-English-speaking world. Originating in the work of Frege, Russell, Moore, and Wittgenstein, it has now ramified into all areas of philosophy, diversifying in its methodology, ideas, and positions. In this chapter, I outline the origins and development of analytic philosophy, highlight certain key themes in the history of analytic philosophy, and discuss the controversial question of whether {\textquoteleft}analytic philosophy{\textquoteright} can be defined.",
