These processes play a major role in reducing the anthropogenic emitted greenhouse gas emissions and give therefore, possible mitigation options to diminish global warming and its negative impacts on our planet. The article presents terrestrial and ocean based solutions for carbon sequestration, their global potential as well as co-benefits and the challenges for implementing them.",
