Organisation profile

The Molecular and Cellular Function theme is made up of three Sections: ‘Cell and Developmental Biology’, ‘Chromosome and Cellular Dynamics’ and ‘Genes and Regulation’. Research in each Section spans single cell to whole organism models with a common purpose to improve understanding of how molecular and cellular functions influence health and disease. Many research activities encompass all three Sections in our theme, and also contribute to three cross-discipline Research Centres: the Aberdeen Centre for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Health (ACAMH), the Aberdeen Cancer Centre, and the Centre for Genome-Enabled Biology and Medicine (CGEBM).
